Frequently Asked Questions
GENERAL
-
Coaching is a non-directive, facilitative process involving a Coach and an individual or group of individuals. In partnership, these parties engage in thought-provoking conversations which aim to actualize Clients desired outcomes and generally enhance their well-being.
Coaching is action-oriented and focuses more-so on the present and future rather than the past.An analogy likening coaching to driving a car:
In the practice of coaching, the Client is the driver and the Coach is the passenger. The Client chooses the destination and the Coach mans the GPS. Throughout their journey, the Coach informs the Client of any relevant information coming up (e.g., exiting soon, caution: pot holes ahead, etc.). At any point the Client can choose to go in a different direction. It is the Coach's job to ensure they move in the right direction, ultimately arriving at the Client's preferred destination.

I use an integrated approach blending my training in Applied Positive Psychology and ADHD Coaching with my personal experiences with anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
My coaching style is flexible and tailored to the needs of each client. Here’s how:
- Session Themes: We can focus on technical topics such as procrastination or time management, subjects with greater emotional depth like self-worth and purpose, or a combination of both. It depends on your needs and comfort level.
- Conversation Style: I can adapt to a more relaxed or formal structure and tone, depending on your preference.
- Delivery: I can be direct or gentle in my communication, whatever you find most helpful and supportive.
- Focus Areas: Whether you prefer planning, reflecting, or tackling tasks during sessions, I’ll adapt to your needs.
- Session Length: Sessions can be adjusted for your processing style—longer if you need more time, shorter if you prefer quick check-ins. *
- Session Frequency: We can meet weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed based on what benefits you most. *
*These adjustments typically occur after the introduction period of 4-6 sessions
Two key principles guide my coaching:
1. Honesty – I will always be truthful and expect the same in return. Without transparency we aren't going to get very far. If that means I think you would fit better with a different coach, I will share that and help point you in a direction to find the right Coach. I want everyone to get the most out of the coaching experience, whether that is with me or not.
2. Empowerment – I will not be telling you what to do! There are coaches out there that will do this, but I am not one of them. In order to achieve long-term progress and actualize your goals, we must distinguish what tools and systems work for you– Not what works for me, or your sibling, or your parent, or your friend...what works best for you. We will discover these strategies together.
If you are unsure about your needs, don't worry! They will become clear as we work together.

While I primarily serve the neurodivergent community, helping individuals learn to work with their neuro-spicy brains, I welcome anyone striving to deepen their self awareness and generally improve their well-being.
At this time, I work with individuals ages 15 and up.

Coaching is a structured form of self-care that can benefit anyone, but readiness is key. Considerations before starting coaching include:
Mental Health: If you're struggling with depression or anxiety, coaching might not be ideal until you feel more grounded. However, if you’re already working with a therapist, adding a coach could be beneficial to help you move from languishing to flourishing.
Commitment: Coaching requires a significant investment of time, energy, and finances. Your willingness to actively engage and test out strategies outside of sessions is crucial for success.
If you're unsure whether coaching is right for you, please schedule a discovery call and we can chat about what might be the best next step for you.
-
Coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association.
While I am happy to share relevant information based on what is being discussed in a meeting (e.g., what you are describing sounds like ADHD), it is important to note that I am not a doctor and therefore, cannot formally diagnose any person.
Coaching is not to be used as a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care, substance abuse treatment, or other professional advice by legal, medical, or other qualified professionals.
-
Coaching is typically future-focused and purpose-driven. It emphasizes developing actionable plans and practical strategies to help a person leverage their strengths in order to overcome barriers and achieve personal goals.
Therapy is traditionally focused on past experiences influencing one's present-day. Therapy involves healing deeper emotional wounds in order to achieve baseline functioning.

PROCESS
-
Here’s a general outline of what you might expect a coaching session to look like:
1. Catch-Up: We start by chatting about what’s been going on since our last session. It’s a chance to share any wins, struggles, or updates on what’s been happening in your life.
2. Set the Scene: We figure out what you want to focus on. You can bring a topic or we can choose one together. It might be a specific issue, a goal you’re working toward, general brainstorming, or just some good old verbal processing.
3. Dive In: The conversation gets into the heart of the matter. I will ask you questions, share educational information, offer feedback when requested, or help you think through things in a new way. It’s all about exploring and understanding what’s going on.
4. Plan Ahead: Together, we'll come up with some concrete steps or intentions to work on before our next session. It’s about making sure you have a clear idea of what you’re aiming for and how to get there.
5. Wrap-Up: At the end, we'll review what we’ve talked about and make sure you’re clear on your next steps. It’s also a chance for you to reflect on how the session went and share any thoughts you have.
The goal is to have a supportive and constructive conversation that helps you move forward in a relaxed and focused way.

Topics across an array of life domains...
Relationships
Work/School
Home Life
Self-Awareness
Self-View/-Love/-Talk
Physical Wellness
Spirituality/Religion
Executive Functioning (e.g., time management, organization, emotional regulation, metacognition, etc.)
Some examples of what we might discuss in a session:
Something broad: "I'd like to have a greater understanding of why I procrastinate."
Something specific and technical: "I struggle to do the dishes."
Something broad and emotionally complex: "I'd like to explore my propensity towards rejection sensitivity."
While no subject is "off of the table," it is important to remember that I am not a doctor. That means I cannot diagnose or treat you in certain capacities.
With that said, I am always happy to "take my coaching hat off" and share personal experiences or psycho-education at point of need.
-
A Coach will:
Create a judgment-free space for a Client to explore whatever subject they like
Ask (many!) questions
Reflect back what they are hearing and seeing
Share psycho-education at point of need
Draw connections between different points a Client has made
Share thinking and behavioral patterns that may influence a Client's progress
Collaborate with the Client to individualize systems that work for their specific brain
Offer accountability, structure, compassion, and understanding
-
Most importantly, Client's must be open and willing to engage in the coaching process.
Client's are responsible for creating and implementing their own physical, mental and emotional well-being decisions, actions, and outcomes, which may result from the Coach-Client relationship.
-
Sessions are primarily remote – either via video conferencing (Zoom) or by telephone. We will use the same zoom link for the duration of our time working together, which I will provide at the outset of our coaching partnership. We will meet at a mutually agreed upon time.
If you are located in the Dallas area and prefer in-person sessions, I will do my best to accommodate that request. Please note that I work from home, so our meetings would take place in my personal home.
-
At the outset of our coaching partnership, I recommend meeting for one 55-minute session once a week.
It takes about four to six sessions for us to find our groove. Around our fourth session we will check in, see how you are feeling about this process, and chat about whether or not to adjust our schedule.
Some clients like to meet weekly, while others like to meet bi-weekly, once a month, or even once a quarter. We can figure out what works best for you, accounting for relevant factors like your availability, emotional bandwidth, energy, finances, and more.
Some (but not all) questions we will consider at the fourth/sixth-session point:
Would it be helpful to have more time between sessions to test out new strategies?
Would now be a good time to switch to every other week (for financial, scheduling, or energy reasons)?
Do we want to adjust the length of our sessions? If you are a verbal processor, having a longer session may be helpful. On the flip side, if you are itching to move around at the end of a 55-minute session, perhaps we should we consider shortening our meetings.
-
The (annoying) answer is it depends on the person, their needs and goals, and what they are getting out of the process.
Some clients like to "get the tools" and move on, while others stay for years because they like the support. Some folks peel off and return for a refresher or for extra support during a challenging time.
The average life cycle of clients who have moved on is roughly four to six months.
At least three months of coaching is encouraged in order for clients to witness longer term growth and progress.
-
There are no strings attached here. You can terminate or discontinue the coaching relationship at any time. Of course I ask for a respectful heads up, but I want each person to get the most out of this experience whether that is with me or not.
We will continually check in and maintain an open dialogue about how you feel about this process and the progress we are making.

The Flourish Project's founder, Mary Margaret Rogers, holds a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania, an AACC designation from the ADD Coach Academy, and firsthand experience living with ADHD, depression, and anxiety (the tri-fecta)!
-
Applied Positive Psychology is the scientific study and practice of optimizing human functioning and well-being. It focuses on strengths, positive emotions, and the factors that contribute to a fulfilling life. In coaching, it involves using these principles to help clients enhance their personal and professional lives.
PROCEDURES
-
Coaching is generally not covered by insurance, as it is considered a non-medical service. However, some clients use Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to cover coaching costs. It’s best to check with your insurance provider or account administrator for specifics.
-
Accepted payment methods include all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover), digital wallets (Zelle, Apple Pay, and Google Pay), ACH Payments (U.S. only), and funds from a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Savings Account (FSA).
-
Clients will be invoiced via email in advance of an agreed upon meeting date. Invoice is due upon receipt. Payments must be made prior to a coaching session.
-
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. This allows us to accommodate other clients and ensures you can get the most out of your coaching experience.
Client's receive one "freebie" for a late cancellation or missed session. Future sessions cancelled or amended without proper notice may incur the full session rate. We understand that life happens and always do our best to reschedule!
A Note on Price Transparency
Transparency is essential to building a climate of trust and safety. Price transparency fosters healthy discourse on the moral and ethical standards of an industry, thereby illuminating opportunities for growth. Guided by this principle, I have chosen to share my coaching rates publicly.
PRICING & ACCESSIBILITY
-
I operate on a Pay-What-You-Can model, designed to make my services accessible while fostering an environment of trust and respect. Here’s how it works:
My standard rate is $175 for a 55-minute session. If you’re comfortable paying this rate, that’s wonderful!
If you’re uncertain about what you can afford, consider this question: “What would I reasonably be able to pay per session if we met weekly?”
Clients can choose a rate between $125 and $225 per session. I trust that each individual can determine what works best for them financially.
Higher-rate sessions help support clients who can afford reduced-rates (more on that below). As such, the more clients who choose to pay higher rates, the more reduced-rate spots become available.
If the aforementioned rates are beyond your budget, I offer reduced-rate sessions priced between $50 and $75. As of March 31, 2025, one reduced-rate spot at $75/session is available.
While I do my best to update this information in real time, please know it is not guaranteed that a reduced rate spot will be available at the time you book your discovery call.
I encourage you to schedule a call regardless of your situation. If we find that we’re a good fit, I’d be happy to add you to the waitlist for a reduced-rate spot, if all are spoken for at the time of our meeting.
Please note that the financial commitment of a coaching partnership is typically more intensive at the beginning and tends to decrease as we adjust our meeting frequency over time.
I recommend starting with weekly sessions. After 4 to 6 meetings, we’ll check in to see if a change in schedule is needed. Many clients find that switching to bi-weekly sessions at this point works well.
Here’s an example to illustrate the investment you might consider:
- Month 1: Weekly sessions at $175 = $700
- Month 2 (and onward): Bi-weekly sessions at $175 = $350
Coaching is a significant investment of your time, energy, and finances. I’m committed to making adjustments whenever possible to best support each client. If you have any questions about this process, please don’t hesitate to book a discovery call so we can discuss it further.
